Hi sponsors!

When my family began our unschooling journey in 2012, we did not anticipate the impact it would have on our family life and on the beliefs we previously held around learning, parenting and childhood. We thought that we would enjoy time out of the rat race and a chance to possibly begin again. Or at least to gain a new perspective.

Man, did we ever gain a new perspective!

We were introduced to a world that many were already part of but that didn’t seem to be talked about a great deal. A world where parents are deeply and actively involved in their family learning life alongside their children. A world where the learner is immersed and engaged, not separated into a cubicle or shuffled away into a room separate from the rest of society for 8 hours a day. A world where learner autonomy is supported and encouraged.

And now, this “learning world” has grown more than ever. Many more families are looking to learning and education options than outside of what has been traditionally offered.

The internet has also changed the game, offering greater access to a global community, information, programs, mentors and more. The family can now, more than ever, personalize their own education. All within their own home, with the touch of a button.

And families that have already been doing this for years are now speaking to the success of living and learning without school.

Honey! I’m Homeschooling The Kids is a platform I created in 2017 to share the stories of families that are living their own learning journey. It’s a place to connect with the community, to inspire and answer the questions that come up for parents that are looking to home educate or unschool their children. I feature parents that already live a life of homeschooling and unschooling, kids and young adults that have grown up without school, as well as researchers, educators and authors in areas that are important to this self-directed learning journey.

Honey! I’m Homeschooling The Kids is a platform to share ideas, stories and information about the joys and challenges of home education and self directed learning. The podcast also serves as a place to bring together a collective voice for change in the broader education system. The community is highly engaged and continues to grow with a monthly reach of over tens of thousands.

If you are a business that supports unique learning opportunities, connected family life and childhood, I’d like to hear from you. I am looking for sponsors that align with our ideas on learning, education and family life.
